2023 - 2024
Kingston School of Art

For my final major project I designed a community space specifically tailored for the elderly, offering various activities such as weaving and knitting spaces. as many elderly enjoy crafting sweaters. To align with the concept of a circular economy, I designed an indoor garden using recycled materials, such as compost from food scraps/organic waste, to reduce landfill waste and establish a closed-loop system for nutrient recycling in the growing process. Additionally, I collected rainwater for garden irrigation to conserve water resources. I also designed rooms where Art therapy sessions will be conducted to enhance mental health and well-being. Moreover, I also incorporated the idea of having a daycare center within the community space which will allow grandparents to bring their grandchildren along while they participate in activities. The community space also includes a café and bar. My design proposal revolve around the theme of water, leveraging its soothing and healing properties to promote overall well-being within the space.

Design Proposal

This year, our site for the final major project was Chatham Dockyard in Kent. Our major design project revolves around the idea of how we inhabit and reuse spaces in our towns and cities. The brief asks us to utilize the concept of the circular economy and its strategies to enable us to generate spatial future proposals designed in an environmentally responsible way. Chatham Dockyard, located in Kent, serves as the site for this project.
